Flooring Xtra’s current and future success is built on the dedication and vision of its shareholders, who carry forward a legacy started by David and Daphne Burns in 1970 with Winton Flooring Specialists Limited. Over two decades ago, now owners, Chris & Rebecca continued this journey, expanding their reach and influence within the flooring industry.
In 2009, Chris & Rebecca joined the Flooring Xtra national co-operative, unlocking new resources and opportunities. By 2011, they took on the challenge of acquiring H & J’s Flooring Xtra in Invercargill, balancing responsibilities across two locations. Their determination saw the team grow from seven to 27 dedicated professionals.
In 2023, Flooring Xtra marked another significant milestone by welcoming five new shareholders, with two more joining in 2024. This strategic move secures the future of the business, ensuring it doesn’t solely rely on Chris & Rebecca. The new shareholders are committed to driving the company forward, embodying the values that have defined Flooring Xtra’s success.
